Prominent Islamic scholars and religious leaders from the United Kingdom and Nigeria praised and endorsed Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), the APC gubernatorial aspirant for Oyo State, during a historic Town Hall Meeting, Book Launch, and Fundraising event held in Bermondsey, London.

The gathering brought together political leaders, clerics, community stakeholders, and members of the Nigerian diaspora, marking a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Oyo 2027 gubernatorial elections.

Among the distinguished Islamic scholars in attendance were Sheikh Labeeb Lagbaji (Striker Kinihun Lagbaji Ijoba), Sheikh Basit Katibi Aponle Anobi (Fakhar Shabab of Ibadanland), Sheikh Basunu (Chief Imam Jamahliy UK and Ireland) and Sheikh Basir (Founder Al Bushra Islamic Prayer Group, UK).

Sheikh Labeeb praised Dr. Kareem as a true example of Fakhar Soliheen — “The Pride of the Righteous”, acknowledging his humility, educational accomplishments, and fear of God. He thanked Almighty Allah for His mercy upon Dr. Kareem and prayed for his success, emphasizing that “without Allah, nothing is possible.”

Sheikh Aponle Anobi, Fakhar Shabab of Ibadanland, commended AKK for his consistent support of young people, describing him as “one of us — a man of conscience, humility, and deep faith.”

Sheikh Basunu highlighted AKK’s contributions to the welfare of children and youths, noting his long-standing commitment to empowerment initiatives. Sheikh Basir emphasized Dr. Kareem’s dedication to promoting both Islamic and Western education, reflecting a balanced vision for societal progress.

In addition, the Imam Salam Muslim Association of Nigeria, UK offered prayers to Almighty Allah, asking for Dr. Kareem to be granted the strength, wisdom, and ability to fulfill all his promises to the people of Oyo State when elected in 2027.

All the scholars and religious leaders prayed collectively for Dr. Kareem’s success, invoking divine guidance, protection, and blessings over his leadership journey.

The event also featured the launch of Dr. Kareem’s book and a detailed presentation of his vision for a transformed Oyo State, anchored on transparent governance, youth empowerment, educational advancement, and economic growth. An interactive Town Hall session allowed attendees to engage with Dr. Kareem, ask questions, and contribute ideas toward shaping the Oyo 2027 agenda.

The gathering demonstrated strong support from the Nigerian diaspora, with attendees contributing generously to fundraising efforts that will advance the AKK 2027 campaign and related development initiatives.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Kareem expressed deep gratitude to the scholars, religious leaders, and attendees for their prayers and support, reaffirming his commitment to service, ethical leadership, and the people of Oyo State.

“This movement is more than a political campaign; it is a mission of faith, service, and transformation,” Dr. Kareem said. “With the prayers of our esteemed scholars and the support of our people, Oyo State will rise again.”

The event concluded with chants of “AKK 2027 – Aseyori ni tiwa!”, symbolizing hope, unity, and collective purpose, and reaffirmed the growing trust in Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem’s leadership and vision for a better Oyo State.
