No fewer than a room on the ground floor of two two-story buildings was engulfed by fire at a popular hotel in Ibadan.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at Carton Gate Hotel in Ibadan on Monday.
It was discovered that a room on the ground floor of the two (2) stories building was engulfed by fire.


According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform and Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident to our correspondence, stressing that firefighters swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire, as properties Worth Millions of Naira were saved from the inferno, and no casualties were recorded.



Heritage Echo also reported that properties worth millions of naira were affected in another fire incident at a private residential building in Iyaganku Crescent, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident occurred on Monday, 29th September, 2025 at No. 23B, Iyaganku Crescent, Ibadan.


The firefighters restricted the inferno from gaining momentum and prevented it from spreading to the main building as well as other nearby properties.
No casualty was recorded and we were able to save the property worth millions of naira.
The fire was jointly extinguished with the Federal Fire Service, Ibadan command
Residents applauded the proactive and immediate response of the Oyo State fire service under the administration of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde as well as the state-of-the-art equipment provided for the firefighters.
However, the Chairman of the State fire service, Hon. Akinwande further urged the public to always unplug any appliances when not in use, to avoid electrical fire.
He also emphasized the importance of having a fire extinguisher in every household to prevent fire incidents at the incipient stage before they go out of control
