Another private residential building has been ravaged by fire in Ibadan, the Capital of Oyo State.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Monday 22 September, 2025 at Felele Area, Ibadan.
Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as the fire incident was a result of an electricity surge ignited from a plugged electrical gadget unattended, inside the Boyz Quarters of Four Bedrooms flat store, and caught fire.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.




Akinwande affirmed that no casualty was recorded and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the firefighters.
He said; “The distressed call was received at exactly 04:02hrs on Monday 22nd September, 2025 through telephoning and Mr Kunle was dispatched to the house on fire at no 20 Omo Gafo House Felele Area, Ibadan.

“Immediately the address was received, Firemen led by ACFS Adisa promptly responded and deployed to the scene of the incident.
“On getting there, it was a store of a Boyz Quarters of a private residential building of four bedrooms flat engulfed by fire. Our officers swiftly swung into action and curtailed and restricted the fire from spreading to Boyz Quarters and the main building.
“No casualty was recorded and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service. The fire incident was a result of an electrical surge ignited from a plugged electrical gadget left unattended, inside the store, and caught fire.
However, the Fire prevention lecture was delivered by the Officer in charge of the crew.
A team of policemen from the Felele Division led by Mr Olowo Kazeem provided security cover during the operation.
Akinwande further urged the public to always switch off and unplug all electrical appliances while not in use particularly after closing work in their various workplaces and when going to bed at night to avoid an imminent fire outbreak.
