The Deputy Leader of the Atiba Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Okunlola Abiola Ige, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Chief Whip of the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA), representing the good people of Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
Okunlola, a Councilor representing the good people of Ward 10 in Atiba local government, in a statement released and made available to newsmen on Friday early morning, described Hon. Oyekola as “a beacon of legislative excellence and an embodiment of selfless public service.
Hon. Ige lauded the former council chairman who doubles as a two-time lawmaker unwavering commitment to the advancement of democratic governance and grassroots development in Oyo State.
According to him, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola is not only a seasoned lawmaker but also a principled leader whose impact resonates beyond the chambers of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
“His legislative acumen, discipline, and loyalty to the ideals of progress have continued to inspire younger legislators like myself,” Ige stated.
Reflecting on Oyekola’s six decades of impactful life, Ige noted that the Chief Whip’s political journey has been marked by courage, integrity, and a people-first approach to representation.
“As my leader, role model, father, and mentor celebrates this milestone, we are reminded of his legacy of excellence, both in leadership and in humanity. I joined his family, colleagues, and constituents in celebrating this icon of public service,” he added.
Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, who represents Atiba State Constituency, is widely respected for his legislative experience, mentorship of emerging political leaders, and his advocacy for community development within and beyond his constituency.
The diamond jubilee celebration is expected to draw dignitaries from across political associates, captains of industry, traditional, and civil society circles.
