A residential building located at Akinsoji Zone, Ogbere Moradeyo, Oremeji area in Ibadan, Oyo State, was razed by fire on Tuesday early morning.

Heritage Echo gathered that household items and properties worth millions of naira were affected in the inferno.
This was disclosed by the special adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan.

Akinwande said no life was lost in the incident, adding that men of the agency were immediately mobilised to the scene as soon as they were contacted.

He said, “Immediately the address was taken, Firemen led by CFS Adesina Olusoji promptly deployed to the place. On getting to the scene of the fire incident, it was a private residential building of six(6) rooms engulfed by fire and our officers swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings.
“The fire was jointly extinguished with Federal Fire Service, Ibadan Command, and a lecture on fire prevention was delivered by the Officer in charge.

“No casualty was recorded and the cause of the fire was traced to be indiscriminate dropping of a cigarette stub by one of the occupants, which ignited nearby combustibles and set the building on fire. The building was severely affected by fire and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the officers of the Agency
