The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has commended the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unprecedented developmental strides and for winning the confidence of the people of Oyo State through purposeful leadership.

Hon. Olufade made this known on Saturday while featuring on Premier Politics, a flagship political program on Success 105.3FM hosted by ace broadcaster Seun Akande.

Responding to a question on the significance of the recent bye-election victory of Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, the PDP candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Olufade described the outcome as a clear testament to Governor Makinde’s acceptance and the people’s satisfaction with the PDP-led administration.

“Winning all 12 wards in Ibadan North during the August 16 bye-election is not just an electoral feat, but a loud statement from our people that they are pleased with Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and the PDP government,” Olufade said.

He further stressed that the turnout of voters was more of a thank you vote to the Governor for delivering dividends of democracy in areas such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and tourism development.

The council boss acknowledged the collective contributions of all elected representatives, appointees, party leadership at the local and state level, noting that unity within the party remains a catalyst for continuous success.

He reassured the people of Ibadan North that their interests would always be protected under the PDP.

“The people of Ibadan North have no regrets voting for PDP. From myself as council chairman, to our two lawmakers, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Adeniyi-Olajide (Ibadan North Constituency 1), Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel (Ibadan North Constituency 2), and our new House of Representatives member, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, all are PDP representatives.

Our collective mandate is to ensure that the yearnings of the people are met and that true dividends of democracy are delivered,” he assured.

Addressing a caller’s question on federal allocation to local governments, Hon. Olufade stated unequivocally that the level of development in Ibadan North already provides the answer.

He highlighted timely salary payments to civil servants, improved security, and ongoing infrastructural projects.

He revealed that about 15 kilometers of roads are currently being constructed or rehabilitated under his administration, including Jembewon Road, Olive Court Road, Awosika Road, Sango-Loko Road, and Bodija Market Road.

“Our administration has prioritized the welfare of both workers and residents, following the exemplary leadership of Governor Makinde, who continues to put the people first,” Olufade declared.

In his closing remarks, the chairman thanked the good people of Ibadan North for their overwhelming support and urged them to register for their voter’s card in preparation for future elections.

He was accompanied to the radio program by his Chief of Staff, Hamdy Mustapha; Councilor representing Ward 9, Hon. Dapo Williams; Supervisory Councilor for Health, Hon. Babatunde Samson Ajala; Special Assistant on Social Services, Hon. Saheed Adeleke; Head of Media, Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola; Official Photographer, Ayodamope Afolabi; and Hon. Joshua Oladapo.
