The executive chairman of Oluyole local government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has expressed confidence that the party will reclaim all three senatorial districts and 14 federal constituencies in the state during the 2027 general elections.

Olatunji made this assertion while congratulating Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as Don, on his landslide victory at the just concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.

He equally commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and commitment to consolidating PDP’s political dominance in Oyo State.

Olatunji, who described governor Makinde as a political ladder through which others climbed their way, said Oyekunle’s victory was inevitable considering the unprecedented accomplishments of the present administration in the state.

According to Olatunji, the victory of Oyekunle Don is not only a testament to the growing popularity of the PDP but also a clear indication of the people’s trust in Governor Makinde’s administration.

He described the outcome of the poll as “a reflection of good governance and people-oriented policies delivered by the PDP government in the state.”

“The people of Oyo State have spoken loudly through the Ibadan North bye-election.

“It is a strong signal that by 2027, our party will reclaim all senatorial seats and federal constituencies currently in the hands of the opposition.

“The trust in PDP is unshakable, and Governor Makinde’s achievements will continue to be our strongest campaign tool,” Olatunji said.

While hailing Oyekunle ‘Don’ for his resilience and grassroots acceptance, Olatunji urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by delivering quality representation at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

The Oluyole LG boss also congratulates his counterpart in Ibadan North LG, Hon. Seun Olufade and the leadership of PDP in the council for owning the campaign project and reclaiming the federal reps seat at the green chamber of the National Assembly.

He further called on party members to remain united and focused ahead of future elections, stressing that PDP is poised to sustain its dominance in Oyo state politics beyond 2027.

Meanwhile, westernmirror.com.ng had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Saturday declared Fola Oyekunle ‘Don’ winner of the Ibadan North bye-election, after securing an overwhelming victory against his closest rival, Adewale Olatunji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
