Following the successful flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in Ibadan North for the forthcoming August 16 bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the party has commenced its ward-to-ward campaign with enthusiastic receptions from constituents.

On Tuesday, the campaign train stormed Ward 1 (Labiran) and Ward 2 (Ode Olo Market), where the PDP candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle “Don,” was warmly received by jubilant residents who declared their readiness to deliver victory for the PDP. Chants of “It’s already a Don Deal” echoed throughout the streets as residents expressed confidence in the party and its candidate.

Addressing the crowd, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON urged the electorate to translate their support into votes at the polls.

He reassured them of his commitment to quality representation at the National Assembly and pledged to complement the remarkable strides of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

He emphasized that his focus would be on the development and welfare of the people of Ibadan North.

The campaign event was lively and engaging, with popular Ibadan North Fuji musician, Hon. Saheed, popularly known as Sedorado, thrilling attendees with energetic music and political messages that stirred both emotions and excitement.

Hon. Demola Omotoso, Director-General of the PDP Campaign Committee, charged residents to vote en masse for the PDP, stressing that the APC no longer has a foothold in Ibadan North.

He emphasized that all polling units must be delivered to the PDP come August 16.

Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, called on the electorate not just to vote, but to vigilantly protect their votes and ensure the party’s victory is secured at the grassroots level.

Also speaking, Hon. Olufunke Comforter, the Oyo State House of Assembly member representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, described the PDP as the strongest and most organized party in Oyo State.

She said the people of Ibadan North will once again prove their trust in Governor Makinde’s leadership by voting overwhelmingly for the PDP.

In her remarks, the Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Toyin Balogun, appealed to women in the constituency to come out in large numbers and vote for Hon. Don.

She assured them that he will offer credible representation and champion the interests of Ibadan North at the federal level.

The campaign train was led by a high-powered delegation that included the DG of the campaign committee, Hon. Demola Omotoso; Secretary-General, Hon. Adebowale Falana; Executive Chairman of Ibadan North LG, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade; Oyo State Assembly member, Hon. Olufunke Comforter; Leader of the Ibadan North Legislative Council, Hon. Taiwo Adebola; Oyo State PDP youth leader and acting publicity secretary, Hon. Michael ogunsina, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Toyin Balogun; Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Comrade Mustapha; PDP Women Leader, Hon. Julian Nwachuku; Executive Assistant to the Governor on Security Coordination, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba; Hon. Olusoji Alade; ward 1 chairman , hon. Demola, ward 2 chairman, Baba bolanta and several other party stalwarts and supporters.

With the overwhelming acceptance in Wards 1 and 2, it is evident that the people of Ibadan North are poised to make a strong statement at the ballot box. The message is clear: it’s already a Don Deal.
