Barr Akeem Agbaje, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 gubernatorial Oyo State aspirant, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on his emergence as the new National Chairman of the APC.

Professor Yilwatda was officially ratified by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at its high-level meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, marking a new chapter in the leadership of the ruling party.

In a statement made available to the press, the two-time gubernatorial aspirant, described Professor Yilwatda’s emergence as “a reaffirmation of the party’s commitment to progress, discipline, and inclusive leadership.” He expressed confidence in the new chairman’s capacity to steer the APC with vision, integrity, and a renewed sense of unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Professor Nentawe Yilwatda is not only an erudite scholar but also a man of deep principle and patriotic fervour. His emergence as National Chairman is a significant moment for our party, and I believe he has the competence and clarity to reposition the APC as a party of the people and for the people.”

Agbaje also commended the President and leader of the party, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for providing the enabling environment for leadership renewal within the APC, noting that the decision to elect Yilwatda underscores the party’s deliberate effort to combine intellectual depth with political experience in driving party cohesion and national development.

As a grassroots politician and advocate of inclusive governance, Barr. Agbaje expressed optimism that the new party chairman would prioritise internal democracy, reconciliation, and support for loyal party members across the country.

“We look forward to a National Working Committee that listens, builds bridges, and works for the collective upliftment of party faithful across every state. I trust that under Professor Yilwatda’s leadership, our party will be more responsive, more united, and more connected to the people’s aspiration.”

He prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for the new chairman as he assumes the mantle of leadership and wished him a successful and impactful tenure.
