A devastating fire has razed a residential building in Ibadan as properties worth millions of naira destroyed by the inferno.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Monday, 21st July 2025 at No. 7 Oriade Street, Amuda Okeere, Ojoo Expressway, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

No casualty was recorded and the properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident in our correspondence.

He said; “The fire incident was at exactly 17:01hrs on Monday, 21st July 2025, through a telephone call, and Baale Daramola reported a house on fire at the above address.

“The Firemen, led by CFS Olayiwola Tunde Kazeem, promptly deployed to the incident scene. On arrival, it was a room on the right of a private residential building with a four-bedroom flat on fire.

However, the firefighters quickly got to work and curtailed the fire from spreading to other parts of the building. The fire was jointly extinguished with the Federal Fire Service.

The fire slightly affected a room and the whole building was saved from the devastating fire by the fire officers.

No casualty was recorded and the properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service.

Equally, residents applauded the executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for providing necessary state-of-the-art equipment to the firefighters in responding quickly to emergencies when needed.
