A young, vibrant youth advocacy and community leader in Oyo federal constituency, Hon. (Prince) Afolabi Idris Olanrewaju Aloma, of Olufunnu Tella Gbaagi a.k.a Baba Ojuopopo Agunloye Royal Family, joins the good people of Oyo and well-wishers across the globe to celebrate a royal milestone, the 50th birthday of our revered monarch, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, on 50th birthday, hailing it as the dawn of a “new golden era” for the historic Yoruba kingdom.

In what has been described as a defining moment in the cultural and political resurgence of the ancient Oyo Kingdom, Hon. Afolabi Idris in a statement released, personally signed, and made available to Heritage Echo News, praised Alaafin’s unwavering dedication to preserving the cultural heritage, traditional values, and social progress of the Yoruba people.
He said, Oba Akeem Abimbola’s reign continues to reflect the values of wisdom, peace, and cultural preservation, unity, and Progress of the Yorubaland race across the globe.

Aloma further reiterated that;

This golden jubilee marks more than a milestone in age, it represents a transformative chapter for Oyo, guided by a monarch deeply rooted in wisdom and modern insight.”
He, however, stressed that the Alaafin, who has consistently championed traditional reform, youth empowerment, and cultural diplomacy since his ascension to the throne, is viewed by many as a dynamic custodian of Yoruba identity. His reign has seen a renewed interest in cultural tourism, infrastructural revitalization, and inter-ethnic dialogue across the Southwest region.
Hon. Afolabi Idris emphasized the significance of youth inclusion in governance and the vital role the Alaafin has played in mentoring emerging leaders across the state.
