Word Kept, Future Built: Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road Project Set to Boost Oyo State’s Economy

With the approval of the Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road project, Governor Seyi Makinde is sowing the seeds of growth and prosperity for Oyo State’s agribusiness sector, paving the way for increased productivity, economic expansion, and a brighter future for our farmers and entrepreneurs

Notin that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has approved the completion of the Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road project, a 12km stretch with an additional 2.2km extension to the Akufo Farm Settlement Road, valued at N1.9 billion.

The project’s completion will have a direct impact on farmers at the Akufo Farm Settlement, improving their ability to transport produce to markets in Ibadan city. This development is expected to encourage food production and distribution, contributing to the state’s economic growth, which is projected to rise to 3.6% in 2025. The project also enhances access for agribusiness investors, potentially attracting new investments to the area.

The Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road project will bring numerous benefits to Oyo State and Nigeria, including, improved road access will boost agricultural output, contributing to the state’s economic growth; enhanced economic activity. The project will facilitate economic activities, improve connectivity, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents, it is expected to create jobs and stimulate investment activity across various sectors.

The improved road infrastructure will attract new investments, particularly in the agribusiness sector, and boost local production. With Nigeria’s economy projected to grow at a faster pace, this project will contribute to the country’s overall economic expansion.

Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration remains committed to fulfilling promises made to the good people of Oyo State, as evidenced by the approval of the Apete-Awotan-Akufo Road project, a vital infrastructure development aimed at boosting economic growth and agricultural productivity in the state.
