Ido LG Launches 2-Day Flood Eradication Sensitization Program

Today, July 1, 2025, Ido Local Government embarked on a crucial mission to educate its residents on the importance of flood prevention and mitigation.

The 2-day sensitization program, which will conclude on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, kicked off in Ward 10, Ido Market.

The Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, was ably represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. AbdulAzeez Yahaya. Also in attendance were the Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Nurain Wahab, the Special assistant Hon. Anjorin and Hon ogunyinka kehinde Special assistant on youth and sports Other notable attendees included Dr. Mrs. Riskat Ayodele Busari, Head of Local Government Administration, Babaloja Mr. Adeyemo Najeem, and Mrs. Babadare Kehinde, Director of Environmental Health Services, along with her team, including her Assistant Mrs. Balogun and other Environmental Health Services staff of Ido LG.

The program aims to enlighten residents on the causes and consequences of flooding, as well as the role they can play in preventing it. Over the next two days, the sensitization awareness will be taken to all ten wards in Ido Local Government, starting from Ward 10, Ido Market, and covering areas such as Akufo in Ward 2, Apete, Ologuneru in Ward 4, Alafara, Iletitun Alaja in Ward 7, Omi Market Iso Agbe, and finally Bakatari in Omi Apata, Ward 9.

By engaging with residents and stakeholders, Ido Local Government hopes to foster a sense of community ownership and responsibility in flood prevention efforts. The program underscores the government’s commitment to creating a safer, more sustainable environment for all residents.
