Barr. Akeem Agbaje, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and two-time gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has extended warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State, Nigeria, and across the world on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.

In a statement released to the media, the Oyo APC 2027 gubernatorial aspirant, described the beginning of the month of Muharram as a significant time in the Islamic calendar, symbolizing not only the start of a new year but also a season for deep spiritual reflection, gratitude, and rededication to virtuous living.

He urged the Muslim faithful to reflect on the values of patience, humility, and piety that define the month of Muharram, and to use the occasion to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Oyo State and the nation at large.

“The dawn of this Hijrah 1447 marks not only a new year in the Islamic calendar but also a fresh opportunity for personal and communal renewal. It is a time to reaffirm our dedication to building a society grounded in justice, compassion, and shared progress. I urge all Muslim brothers and sisters to remember our state and nation in their prayers for peace and continued growth.”

He further called for continued support for the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while urging citizens to work together in fostering unity and upholding enduring moral and spiritual values within their communities.

“I pray that Almighty Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful, guide our steps in this New Year, strengthen our faith, and grant Oyo State and Nigeria lasting peace, stability, and development. Ameen.”
