The Nigeria Police Force has declared Elusoji Oluwasegun Roland, a US-based Nigerian citizen, wanted in connection with a massive fraud case involving conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretenses, and theft.

This declaration was formally published in The Punch, a leading national daily, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, on page 27—with a warrant of arrest issued by the Federal High Court in Lagos, reflecting Nigeria’s commitment to tackling financial crimes that tarnish its global reputation.

Elusoji is accused of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme in the United States on November 1, 2023, defrauding victims of ₦1.207 billion. The allegations include collecting ₦525 million for a first property and ₦450 million for a second property, neither of which was delivered.

Additionally, he allegedly obtained ₦232 million under false pretenses to purchase a 2024 Mercedes Benz GLE 63S, a black luxury vehicle with VIN number 4JGFD8KB2RB134498, which was never acquired for the victim.

The Nigeria Police Force has called on the public to provide any information that could lead to Elusoji’s apprehension, emphasizing the gravity of the charges.

The case, according to reports, has sparked renewed calls for Nigerians to uphold integrity and avoid actions that disgrace the nation’s image in the international community.

Financial crimes committed by Nigerians abroad continue to cast a shadow over the country’s reputation, overshadowing the positive contributions of its citizens. The public is urged to report any information regarding Elusoji Oluwasegun Roland’s whereabouts to the nearest police station or the Nigeria Police Force’s dedicated hotline. Authorities have assured confidentiality for informants.

As Nigeria strengthens its fight against financial crimes, this case underscores the need for collective responsibility to protect the nation’s reputation. The pursuit of justice in this matter reflects the government’s determination to hold accountable those who exploit trust, regardless of where the crime occurs.
