A dramatic incident unfolded at a container shop in Oyo, where fire broke out, threatening to spread and cause significant damage to properties.


The Oyo State Fire Services Agency, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, quickly put the blaze under control to avert a potential disaster to the nearby petroleum station and hotels.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred today, at the Fola Tyre area, beside the Molab Filling Station, Oyo township.

No casualty was recorded; the fire incident resulted from careless handling of naked fire.



The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Akinwande, confirmed the incident in our correspondence.

According to him, “the fire incident was reported at exactly 3.58 am today, Tuesday, 10th June, 2025, through a telephone call, and Mr. Samuel reported the incident at the stated address”.

“The Agency’s Officers, led by CFM Atanda Bola, were promptly deployed to the scene of the incident.
“On arrival, it was a container used as a shop engulfed by fire. The crew quickly swung into action while the fire was strictly restricted from spreading to other nearby properties. The fire was completely extinguished”.

However, the residents of the area commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, for giving the firefighters the necessary equipment to respond to emergencies when the needs arise.
