Heritage Echo gathered that a devastating fire broke out at a mechanic workshop in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, engulfing a Mazda Bus in flames.

Our correspondence gathered that the incident occurred on Monday 9th June, 2025, at a Mechanical Workshop in front of Alarere Central Mosque, Sawmill Area, Ibadan.
The fire affected the Mazda bus with registration number KWL 943 ZA, Abuja, while other properties in the workshop were spared by the inferno
Special Adviser to the Governor and Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande decried the incident in a statement released on Monday, saying the agency received a distress call in the early hours of Monday.
The fire incident was received through a telephone call by the Agency’s control room center at exactly 08:27hrs on Monday 9th June, 2025 and Mr. Akinade to vehicles on fire at the above address.
“Immediately the address was taken, a crew of firemen led by ACFS Adesina Olusoji swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident. On arrival at the scene of the incident, it was a MAZDA bus regd. No. KWL943ZA(Abuja) engulfed by fire. We quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to the other vehicles stationed at the workshop”.
The fire was extinguished and necessary advice was given to the owner of the workshop so as to avert future occurrences.
However, the fire affected only one bus out of forty -eight (48) buses stationed at the workshop. The Fire Service was able to save properties worth millions of naira.
No casualty was recorded, the fire was as a result of sparks from battery terminals whilst the technicians were working on it.
