All hail the swift response of Oyo State Fire Service under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande as a tanker carrying 45,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) overturned in the Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State.

The said incident occurred at Ayanyan Ar ea, along Ogbomoso/Ilorin Express Way, Ogbomoso on Friday, 30th May 2025.
Speaking with Heritage Echo correspondence, a petrol trailer tanker with registration number MAG 20 XB(Borno) with 45,000 litres capacity of PMS lost control and swerved into the nearby pit.

However, the Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News on Saturday.



Akinwande said; “On Friday 30th May,2025 at exactly 12:30hrs, the distressed call was reported through telephoning and Alfa kabiru Aderibigbe to a Trailer tanker accident at Ayanyan area along Ogbomoso/Ilorin express road, in Ogbomoso.
“The firemen led by PFS11 Oluwaleye quickly deployed to the scene of the accident. On getting to the scene, we met a petrol trailer tanker with regs number MAG 20 XB(Borno) with 45,000 litres capacity of PMS, lost control, and swerved into the nearby pit.


“We swiftly swung into action, by carpeting the spillage with a foam chemical compound and neutralizing the flammability from trigger ignition that might lead to a fire outbreak.
“No lives were lost and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the Fire Services Agency.
CFS Awoyemi Seyi, a team of policemen, and a team of FRSC were in attendance for security and traffic control, respectively. He concluded.
