As Governor Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSc, GSSRS marks a productive and inspiring sixth year in office, the Oyo State Fire Service Agency under the leadership of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Services Reform/Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande has commended His Excellency leadership and highlighted significant sectoral growth under his administration in Pacesetter State.

The agency’s commendation underscores the governor’s commitment to enhancing emergency services and overall development in the state.

In the statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News, according to the agency, Governor Makinde’s tenure has witnessed notable advancements in various sectors, including emergency response, infrastructure development, and community engagement. The agency’s personnel have been equipped with modern equipment and training, enabling them to respond more effectively to emergencies.

In Healthcare sectors, Akinwande highlighted the completion and renovation of 264 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) out of the 351 targeted across the state, the recruitment of qualified health workers, and the provision of modern medical equipment.



Governor Makinde’s leadership in Oyo State has witnessed a revolution in the health sector, including the commissioning of an oxygen plant at Ring Road State Hospital and another in Saki,” he said.
Hon. Akinwande further praised the state’s takeover of full ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), conversion of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education into a University of Education, and the recruitment of over 15,000 teaching and non-teaching staff, recruitment of 1,000 civil servants into the state Civil Service Commission, thousands of young graduates into Primary Healthcare Board across the State.

These moves are reshaping the future of Youth-focused education in Oyo. The establishment of more model schools with modern ICT labs is a visionary step toward digital education. He noted.
He emphasized the training of over 3,300 youths in agribusiness, with over 2,000 trained at the Oyo Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) in Fasola and nearly 1,000 youth we’re recently trained at CSS Farm in Nasarawa under the Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Project (YEAP). While the process of getting loans for the beneficiaries is ongoing, set to be rolled out in a couple of months.
Akinwande however reiterated that the move has created a new generation of agropreneurs and is laying the foundation for food security and youth employment as well as making the economy stable with conducive environments.
Equally, he stated that the Oyo State Fire Service Agency has also strengthened its partnerships with other emergency response agencies, both locally and internationally, to enhance its capacity to respond to emergencies. These partnerships have resulted in improved response times and more effective emergency management.
The agency’s leadership expressed gratitude to Gov Makinde for his unwavering support and commitment to enhancing the agency’s capacity to deliver quality services to the people of Oyo State. As the governor continues his tenure, the agency remains dedicated to serving the state and its citizens professionally and diligently.
