As part of the activities marking the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, paid a heartwarming visit to the Terranjos Foundation, located on Irawo Street, Agbowo, Ibadan.

The foundation is a specialized center dedicated to the care and education of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.

The foundation, renowned for its inclusive approach, caters to children living with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, intellectual and learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, and hearing impairments.

Addressing the gathering during his visit, Hon. Olufade expressed profound joy at spending the special day with the children.

“These children are our own,” he said. “We must do everything possible to make them happy and ensure they feel loved and included in our society.”

Despite his busy schedule, the chairman emphasized the importance of being physically present to celebrate the day with the children.

He commended the Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Taiwo Adenike, for her unwavering commitment to the well-being of the children.

He also extended his appreciation to the foundation’s staff and parents for their selfless dedication, resilience, and continuous support for the children.

Hon. Olufade was taken on a tour of the facility, including the classrooms, resting rooms, and administrative offices.

Clearly impressed by the standard and quality of the amenities, he applauded Mrs. Adenike for creating a nurturing and functional environment for the children.

Hon. Olufade also praised the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his inclusive style of governance, particularly the establishment of the Oyo State Agency for People with Disabilities, headed by Barrister Adekambi.

He noted that the governor’s passion for persons with special needs has translated into practical and sustained support across the state.

Reaffirming his commitment to collaboration, Hon. Olufade assured the management of Terranjos Foundation that his administration would facilitate a partnership between the foundation and the state agency to ensure consistent support and inclusion in all welfare initiatives for persons living with disabilities.

He also pledged that the Ibadan North Local Government would continue to extend a hand of fellowship to the foundation.

The chairman was accompanied by key members of his team, including the Chief of Staff of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Hamdy Mustapha; the Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties, Hon. Adewumi Adeagbo; the Head of Media, Aderibigbe Yisahu; and members of the media team, Ayodamope Afolabi and Ojoawo Olajide.

Signed,
