Barr. Akeem Agbaje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Kehinde Alade, the 14-year-old boy who tragically lost his life during a joint traffic enforcement operation conducted by the Oyo State Police Command and the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYTMA) on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
In a message made available to the press, the legal luminary described the incident as deeply painful and profoundly distressing, especially given the young life that was abruptly cut short under circumstances that have since drawn wide public concern.
“My heart goes out to the Alade family at this time of immeasurable grief. No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child in such a tragic and avoidable circumstance. I pray that Almighty Allah grant them the strength to bear this devastating loss and give the departed eternal rest.”

Barr Agbaje emphasized the need for collective reflection and sober consideration from both citizens and state institutions.

He called on members of the public to be more responsible and compliant with traffic and public safety regulations, while also urging law enforcement agencies and traffic authorities to be better equipped, both in training and operational ethics, to respond to difficult situations without endangering innocent lives.
“This moment calls for humility, reform, and renewed commitment to life-preserving measures by all who serve in public enforcement duties. Equally, we as citizens must conduct ourselves within the bounds of law and civic responsibility to help create a safer society for all.”
Barr Agbaje expressed his support for the ongoing investigation by the Oyo State Police Command, noting that justice must be served with transparency and integrity.
