At the recent 95th birthday celebration of Pa Ganiyu Sanusi, the father of Ibadan billionaire, business mogul and philanthropist, Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Oba Hamidu Ajibade proclaimed the emergence of Jubril Dotun Sanusi as a beacon of hope for Oyo State.

As the son of a revered patriarch and a prominent business mogul, Sanusi is not merely stepping into the shoes of the late Arisekola Alao; he is redefining leadership in the region.

Sanusi embodies the spirit of empathy and unity that Arisekola once represented, bridging divides among Muslims, Christians, and the wider community. His unwavering support for various faith-based organisations and non-governmental groups highlighted his dedication to fostering harmony in a diverse society.

Beyond his business acumen, Sanusi stood out as a philanthropic force, championing initiatives that uplift the less privileged and promote social cohesion.

Politically, Sanusi has emerged as a pivotal figure in Oyo State as his influence has been instrumental since 2011, guiding the rise of key political figures within the state.

The recent 2023 general elections further cemented his relevance as he mobilised support for President Bola Tinubu and became a coveted endorsement for gubernatorial candidates from both the APC and PDP.

In a politically charged environment where alliances are crucial, Sanusi’s backing is viewed as a golden ticket to success.

As the state prepares for the 2027 elections, it is evident that any candidate who secures Sanusi’s endorsement is likely to have a significant advantage.

His vision for Oyo State, combined with his extensive connections, positions him as the natural successor to Arisekola’s legacy.

The optimism among the populace is palpable, with many believing that Sanusi will lead Oyo State toward a brighter future.

As we celebrate his contributions, we can only hope that God spares his life to continue this vital work.

Jubril Dotun Sanusi is not just a leader; he is the Afobaje of Oyo State, a title that reflects his profound impact and the hope he embodies for the people.
