The lawmaker representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass A. Adigun (Agboworin), on Thursday, trained over 100 youth and women in the skill of soap making in Ibadan.

The training programme, carried out in conjunction with the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, held at his Felele residence in Ibadan.

Agboworin, who is a two-term lawmaker and Chairman, House Committee on Narcotics, while speaking on the event, noted that he facilitated the programme to improve the living standard of his constituents.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity of the skill to improve their economic status in their various communities and building a better tomorrow for themselves.

“This is not the first time I have organized an empowerment programme like this. It is not the second nor the third time and most people know thisbin this constituency.

“You have not come here to play and you are here to learn something important to your life. I am sure they must have given you pamphlet that guide you through the procedure of making the soap.

“They gave me this in Abuja to help the youths and women in my constituency. You are benefitting from this because my aim is to ensure that you are all engaged with something that can be giving you money to take care of yourselves and the families.

“So, I want to urge you not to sell these equipment. Use them to build up your capital and create wealth for yourselves. Make something good ut of this to become somebody.”

Few items that come with the empowerment package include start-up cash, gas cylinders, tables, mixers and few other items, which will be presented to the participants to kick-start their businesses on Saturday 19th.
