Executive Governor Seyi Makinde has paid a condolence visit to the Adeojo family over the death of their patriarch.
The governor was received by the council chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo.
Adeojo, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State. Died at the age of 89, after a brief illness at his Iyaganku residence in Ibadan on Friday 4th of April, 2024.

Makinde had earlier sent a condolence message to the family shortly after the burial of Adeojo in Ibadan, the state capital, describing the former party man as one of the last men standing, Makinde said Adeojo’s death marked the end of a glorious political era

The governor commiserated with the PDP family in Oyo State, saying, “Baba’s death marks the end of a glorious political era, as he was one of the last great men standing in the state as a political, community, and religious leader. He will be greatly missed by the PDP family, where he has been our leader and icon for over two decades.
” His death will also leave a vacuum in our great state and Nigeria because Baba gave his best to serve our state and nation. It is my prayer that God will grant repose to his soul, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and uphold the family he left behind”.
Appreciating the governor on behalf of the family, Sheriff Adeojo, the council chairman of Ido local government acknowledged the last respect given to their father by the state governor, saying, the family will continue to uphold their father’s political legacy and philanthropic gesture as well as smoothing the late chief Adeojo’s relationship with the governor
