In a historic gesture, the Chief Imam of Ogbomoso, Sheikh Taliat Yunus Ayilara, on Monday evening, paid a courtesy visit to the private residence of the executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, for Iftar (breaking of fasting).

The visit, which is currently ongoing at Olatunji’s private residence at Sanyo was characterized by prayers, discussions on community development, and a strong message of unity and peace.

The Chief Imam, accompanied by a delegation of respected Islamic clerics commended Olatunji for his approach to governance, leadership, and contributions to the growth of Oluyole local government and by extension, Oyo State.

Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji is the Baba Isale (Grand Patron) Musulumi as well as the Asiwaju (Leader) of Oluyole local government.

Speaking, Sheikh Ayilara emphasized the importance of love, mutual respect, and support for leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people. He also offered prayers for continued success and guidance for Olatunji in his role as the Baba Isale Musulumi of Oluyole and his political endeavors.

Confirming the visit over phone when contacted, Olatunji expressed deep appreciation for the visit, describing it as a humbling and memorable moment. He reiterated his commitment to serving the people and promoting initiatives and policies that promote unity and progress in Oluyole local government.

He emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for one another as critical part of the overall growth process and assured that his administration is fully keyed into the vision of governor Seyi Makinde on inclusive governance where no segment is left behind.

“This visit by our highly revered Chief Imam is not just an honor to me but also a reminder of the values of Ramadan which are peace, generosity, and unity of purpose. I am deeply grateful and will continue to work for the betterment of Oluyole local government and Oyo State as a whole,” Olatunji said.
