Hon. Mrs. Adekanmbi Adepeju Folashade, the Secretary to Oyo West Local Government (SLG), Ojongbodu, Òyó has joined the global call for greater gender equality as the world celebrates International Women’s Day today.
Mrs. Adepeju in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo Correspondence on Saturday, emphasized the importance of promoting women’s empowerment and challenging discriminatory practices that hinder women’s progress.

Hon. Adekanmbi also highlighted the need for collective action to address the persistent challenges faced by women, including gender-based violence, limited access to education and healthcare, and economic inequality.

According to her, a woman’s strength is beyond measure. A woman with a voice is a powerful force in the world and that is why women must Keep speaking the truth and making a difference wherever we are.

As part of the celebrations, Hon. Adekanmbi announced plans to launch initiatives aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality in Oyo West Local Government.
