Again, Oyo State Fire Service under the Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande has successfully rescued a fire incident that occurred in the Iyemetu Oje area of Ibadan.
While speaking with our correspondence, the cause of the fire incident originated from a cooking gas and quickly spread to nearby buildings. However, the prompt response of the Oyo State Fire Service saved the situation from escalating further.
Hon. Akinwande, however, confirmed that his men responded swiftly and were able to curtail the fire and bring it to control within a short period.
“We were able to rescue the situation and prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings.” He said.
He attributed the success of the operation to the timely response of his men and the state government’s investment in modern firefighting equipment. While assuring residents that an investigation is underway to determine the source of the fire, aside from the Cooking gas.
Akinwande equally, advised residents of Iyemetu Oje to remain calm and vigilant and report any further incidents to the authorities immediately.
