The Oyo State Fire Services Agency, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has promptly responded to a distress call and curtailed a fire outbreak involving a gas truck from an explosion.
Speaking with the newsmen, the personnel of the agency led by ACFS Adediji promptly deployed to the scene along the Ibadan/Lagos Expressway, Agidigbo FM area, today in Ibadan.

“The fire incident was reported to the agency at exactly 12:10hrs of Friday, 20th December 2024 through GSM and CFM Adisa Kazeem to a Gas tanker on fire”.

According to him, on arrival at the incident, it was discovered that a truck carrying domestic gas was involved in the inferno that might have led to the explosion. The prompt response of the agency curtailed and prevented it from leading to an explosion while it was subdued and put under total control.

Oyo State Government has been commended for its swift response to the emergency, which helped to prevent a major disaster.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of having effective emergency response services in place to mitigate the impact of such incidents.

However, the Agency’s personnel are still on standby to forestall any form of distress.
