In the wake of a devastating stampede at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), a governorship aspirant for Oyo State in the 2027 elections, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

The stampede, which occurred earlier today at an event organized for yet disclosed organisation, has led to multiple fatalities and numerous injuries.

In a statement released shortly after the incident, AKK offered his deepest sympathies to the grieving families, particularly those who tragically lost loved ones. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in this heart-wrenching incident. Our hearts go out to the parents whose joy has suddenly turned to mourning due to these needless deaths,” AKK said.

The stampede occurred during a large gathering at the venue, which was reportedly filled with families who had gathered to participate in a celebratory event. While the exact cause of the stampede is still under investigation, witnesses have reported that panic spread among the crowd, resulting in a fatal crush.

Dr. Kareem emphasized that his thoughts and prayers remain with the families affected.
“In this moment of grief, we stand with the families and loved ones impacted by this tragedy. We must also extend our deepest sympathies to the Oyo State Government, which is undoubtedly working hard to manage the aftermath of this unfortunate event,” AKK stated.

In conclusion, AKK offered a prayer for the souls of the departed: “May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may the families find strength and solace in this difficult time. We are with you.”
