The executive chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has commended the state
Governor, Seyi Makinde for approving a minimum wage increase.

Makinde, during the state executive meeting yesterday, approved a sum of 80,000 Naira as the new minimum wage for Oyo workers.

Adeojo in a released statement in Ibadan on Thursday morning
described the governor’s gesture as one that shows empathy to the struggles of Oyo workers, adding that it will boost their morale and work ethic. He thereafter called on the workers to reciprocate Governor Makinde’s goodwill by showing greater dedication in their roles and helping to advance the state.

” Governor Makinde’s approval of the new minimum wage is a sign of his determination to improve the lives of Oyo state’s workers; it is a general belief this will inspire them to work even harder, knowing that their well-being is being prioritized.

” Governor Makinde understands the rising cost of living, and he believes this increment will go a long way in alleviating the financial burden on the state workers, he deems it fit to raise the wages above the 70,000 benchmark set by the federal government.” Adeojo said.
