LAGELU— Chairman Kamoru’s First 100 Days: Overview of Milestones since Inauguration

The first 100 days of Chairman Mudashiru Kamorudeen began on May 24, 2024, the day he was inaugurated as Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government.

His first 100 days in office has been considered to be a significant benchmark to measure early success; milestones and the future ahead.

He has made an impressive start in his first 100 days with early actions that makes a difference on issues ranging from local security and economy, infrastructure and investment.

Immediately after assuming office, Hon. Kamorudeen began to formally create his chairmanship footprint during his first 100 days— and with a record worth examining.

Chairman Kamoru’s accomplishments during the first 100 days included commencement of the Reconstruction of 1.34 km Road project along Wafun-Kute; Convening of the first-ever Economic and Security Stakeholders Dialogue— leading to the establishment of a local security network under an operational scheme “Lagelu_Secure”; the introduction of a Cooperative Credit Bank to support small-biz and startups; Commencement of the construction of New Amotekun Office in Lagun Township; Resuscitation of Patrol Van for Operation Burst Command in Lagelu; Introduction of Lagelu Palm Estate for Local Production of Palm Oil; Introduction of the First-ever Lagelu Paint Product.

As we mark the first 100 days of Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen’s tenure as Executive Chairman of Lagelu local government— we are excited to share the significant progress recorded.

Commencement of the Reconstruction of Wofun Junction-Rail line 1.34 km Road project

One of the most widely appraised achievements of the administration is the commencement of the reconstruction of a 1.34 km of Road along Wofun-Kute. The project has been regarded as a significant step towards enhancing connectivity of different communities, and easing of multiple hard realities sorrounding transportation within and around the region. The project underscores the administration’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development for the benefit of indigenes and residents alike.

Establishment of a Local Security Network under an Operational Scheme- “Lagelu_Secure”

In a bid to enhancing security for businesses and residents alike, the administration has launched a local security network which is to work with the existing security providers and agencies— with investment in equipment and technology to improve response times and effectiveness. The initiative is a major lead towards the much advocated community policing strategy for the overall safety of businesses and residents. In its effort on local security, the administration has completely resuscitated patrol vehicle for the Operation Burst Command in Lagelu, it also has commenced the construction of New Amotekun Office in Lagun Township.

Introduction of a Cooperative Credit Bank for Small-biz and Startups

The administration has recorded success in introducing a cooperative credit bank to help support small businesses and startups. The initiative was introduced in record setting time as a lead to support small businesses and startups. A significant initiative currently helping to promote productivity, entrepreneurship, profits, innovation and investment across the local government area. This new initiative introduced by the Kamoru Administration is currently providing essential financial resources to stimulate local economic growth and investment— with over record breaking beneficiaries in the last 2 months.

Unveiling the First-ever Lagelu Paint Product

In another significant development, the administration has proudly unveiled the first ever Lagelu Paint product. The new product is set to revolutionize the local paint industry by offering high-quality and affordable options. The introduction of Lagelu Paint underscores a commitment to fostering local businesses and promoting homegrown innovation.

Introduction of Lagelu Palm Estate

The administration has made introduction of the Lagelu Palm Estate, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bolstering local production of palm oil. The project represents a significant step towards self-sufficiency and economic growth in the local communities. The estate will not only create numerous job opportunities but also support local farmers and entrepreneurs. By focusing on sustainable practices, the administration is aiming to ensure the palm oil production is both environmentally friendly and economically viable.
