The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahaab Adetunji (WABKEM), has charged communities to partner with government in rapid transformation of their respective areas.
Hon Wahaab stated this at the inauguration of new Executive for Atiba Local Chapter of Community Development Council (CDC) held at the Coucil’s Secretariat, Offa Meta, Oyo. He said there’s need people to see public facilities in their areas as their own by takin proper care of these facilities.
He maintained that safeguard amenities provided by the government remains a collective responsibilities of all to guarantee it’s long lasting and justify resources expended.
While congratulating the new executive, he registered his recognition of their efforts in the past which should be sustained.
Hon. Adetunji therefore promised his support towards any proposal from these communities as long as it has potential for development and improvement in standard of living of the people. In addition, he charged the communities to uphold basic hygienic measures to avert the break of epidemic in our society.
Welcoming the people to the programme, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr Peter Oladeji, advised the executive to always have the interest of their communities at heart and ensure that whatever decisions taken should be to the interest of the people.
Speaking at the inauguration, Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs Gbadamosi Seidat Olayemi enjoined those elected as executive to see themselves as representatives of their respective communities and therefore put their interest at heart always.
Inaugurating the Council, Mrs Ekun K A from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion stated that they should see themselves as catalyst for development at the grassroots.
Responding, the Chairman of the newly inaugurated Executive, Alh. Muritala Oyekan, promised to live up to expectations and solicit for continued support of the Chairman. He commended Hon. Adetunji for his community oriented approach and promised to make Atiba Local Government first among equals in community development initiatives.
Present at the inauguration were Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Ademola Abodunrin; Director of Finance and Supplies, Alhaja Olayiwola Fatimoh; representatives of Community Development Associations among others.
