A high-level delegation from the Oyo State House of Assembly, led by the Majority Leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, is currently in Prague, Czech Republic, to finalize investment partnerships with Czech companies and government officials.

The partnerships aim to enhance the living standards of Oyo State residents through collaborations in key sectors such as technology development, education, and renewable energy.

The delegation, which includes Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola (Egbeda), Hon. Oladeji Oparinde (Afinio), Hon. Babajide Gabriel (Ibadan North 2), and Hon. Waheed Akintayo (Oluyole), is engaging in high-level discussions with Czech experts and officials to explore opportunities for investment in waste-to-energy technology, modular property development, agriculture, aerospace, and pilot training schemes.

The partnerships are expected to boost Oyo State’s economy, create new opportunities for youths, and bridge the technological gap.

The Majority Leader said Czech Republic, renowned for its expertise in science and technology would share its knowledge and advancements with Oyo State, enhancing capabilities for Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Technical University.

Hon. Adedoyin emphasized the significance of the collaborations, stating that they would advance Oyo State’s technology, education, land transportation, and energy.

Member representing Oluyole State Constituency, Hon. Waheed Akintayo noted that the partnerships would provide practical training for students and youths, allowing them to benefit from technological knowledge transfer.

The delegation aims to finalize agreements that will pave the way for future projects and training initiatives, potentially leading to the establishment of new training centers and technology hubs in Oyo State.

The outcomes of this visit are anticipated to have a significant impact on Oyo State, fostering economic growth and development.

Receiving the delegation, Mr. David Muller, Director General, European Union and Foreign Trade Section, Czech Republic, expressed excitement over the partnership, noting that it would be beneficial to both parties.

The Czech Republic Ambassador to Nigeria, Zdenek Krejci, commended the collaboration, expressing readiness to provide assistance to Oyo State through transportation, education, and renewable energy.
