The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in collaboration with Shell Nigeria Gas, hosted a customer and stakeholder forum on Wednesday to provide updates on the ongoing gas infrastructure project in Oyo State.

The event aimed to inform sector off-takers about the recent developments and the anticipated impact of the project on the local economy.

Barr. Ashamu Nurudeen Temilolu Seun, the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, represented the Oyo State Government at the forum. On behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, he reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to the gas infrastructure project. He emphasized the medium and long-term benefits of the project, which include enhancing energy security and fostering economic growth in the state.

“This project is a cornerstone of our administration’s vision for a sustainable and prosperous Oyo State,” Barr. Ashamu stated. “We are dedicated to ensuring that this infrastructure not only meets the current energy demands but also supports future growth, providing a reliable energy source for businesses and households alike.”

The forum provided a platform for stakeholders to engage in discussions about the project’s progress and its implications for the state’s energy landscape. Attendees expressed optimism about the positive changes the gas infrastructure would bring, highlighting its potential to attract investment and drive industrial development in the region.

As the project advances towards completion, the Oyo State Government remains focused on delivering on its promise to improve the state’s energy infrastructure, ensuring that residents and businesses benefit from increased energy security and economic opportunities.
