… assures defection to PDP soon
The Oyo Federal Constituency Accord Party, led by Hon. Adeniran Joel Adedapo, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Executive Chairman of Atiba local government, Offa-meta, Oyo, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Joel Adedapo stated the purpose was to officially congratulate the Chairman on his election and assumption of office on behalf of Hon. Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen.
This visit indicates a display of unity and goodwill among political parties, promoting a positive and collaborative political atmosphere.
The visit was seen as a gesture of goodwill and a demonstration of the Accord Party’s commitment to unity and cooperation among political parties in the state.
Hon. Joel praised the council boss’s leadership qualities and expressed his party’s willingness to work with Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem to develop the local government in line with the restoration agenda legacy.
“We are here on behalf of Hon. Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen and the Accord Party in Atiba and Oyo federal constituency to congratulate Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem on his election and assumption of office.
“Our joy today is that those at the helm of affairs are thoroughbred grassroots politicians who understand local politics.”
Additionally, the women leader of the Accord Party in Oyo Federal Constituency, Alhaja Ademola Suebat from Afijio, explained that the visit is seen as a positive step towards building bridges among political parties in the state and working towards the development of the local government.
In his speech, Baba Soldier admonished the council boss to focus on grassroots infrastructural development and community integration, noting that his performance as a Councilor speaks volumes of his political prowess and positive impact.
He urged him to deliver quality service to the people of the Royal Council.
“I believe Wabkem will deliver excellently well; he’s a visionary man,” Baba Soldier assured.
In his remarks, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem appreciated the Accord Party delegation for their visit on behalf of Hon. Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen and promised to work with all stakeholders to deliver quality service to the people of the local government.
He applauded them for the spirit of sportsmanship shown by the opposition party, claiming that it was the first of its kind in the Royal Council.
He said, “The era of politics is gone; this is the time for productive governance devoid of nepotism, tribalism, and favoritism.”
Wabkem assured the Accord Party, led by Hon. Joel Adedapo, of a harmonious working relationship while sending a message of peace and love to Hon. Oladotun Nurudeen Faozey.
He highlighted some of the leadership attributes of the governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, which he said include strict adherence to the principles of equity, fairness, and justice.
Delegates in the entourage of Hon. Joel Adedapo included Baba Soldier, Alhaji Oladele, Mrs. Tawakalitu Oladokun, Baba Afolabi, Mr. Mathew Aweda, Alfa Ola Adua from Oyo East, Alfa Adeyemi from Oyo West, Alhaja Ademola Suebat from Afijio (OFC).
Others included party chairman Mr. Wale Adebayo, women leader Mrs. Jemilat Adebayo, youth leader Alfa Bulala, organization secretary Mr. Fisayo, and party secretary Mrs. Oyin Afolabi.
