The Executive Chairman, Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola has rejoiced with the entire Muslim, especially the Muslim members of Oyo East Local Government Area for witnessing another Eid-festival.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Executive Chairman urged them to imbibe virtues as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated his willingness to sacrifice his only son in deference to the Will of Allah to commemorate the festival of Eid-el-kabir.
He tasked the Muslim members on self- restraint with a view to rededicating themselves to the service of Allah and promoting good neighbourliness, love and unity.
“I also want to implore us to use the occasion of this festive period to continually offer prayers for peace, growth and development of our dear local government and Oyo state entirely.
Furthermore, he added, “Prophet Ibrahim achieved significance as a result of his willingness to obey the Almighty Allah and his readiness to sacrifice his son. These are values and virtues that are eternal. For anyone to become someone of note in life, he must be ready to obey God and live a life of sacrifice. For any country to attain greatness, the citizens must imbibe the virtues of obedience and sacrifice. So, as Nigerians, we must imbibe the virtue of obedience and sacrifice.”
He then pray that God Almighty will grant us long live to witness many more celebrations on earth.
