As part of the ongoing efforts of the Professor Lanre Olaniyan-led- Management to put the nascent Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo on the right track, another leadership workshop was recently held at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.

According to a release made available by the University’s Media and Public Relations Officer, ‘Wale Adeoye, the goal of the workshop is to scale up administrative efficiency and effectiveness at the top, middle and lower level. The topical issues addressed are: SWOT Analysis, Change Management, Value Creating Culture and Implementation Plan and was packaged by the Directorate of Research Management and International Programmes.

Declaring the workshop open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan stated that his vision for a world-class university has been a reason for continuous workshops for various officers of the University. “When I was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor on August 9, 2023, I started consultations and reached out to friends and leaders of note. These consultations are yielding. I want to specially appreciate the Special Adviser to the Governor on Federal Constituency Matters, Hon. Dare Adeleke for finding out time to be part of our success story. I thank my good friends here Professor Francis Gbenga Fasanu, Akinwale Ogunmodede, Adedotun Adeosun and Olusola Obiyomi who all came to join me in building a credible university as facilitators for this workshop. I am sure at the end of this workshop, every leader here would leave here with value additions.”

In his brief remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Federal Constituency Matters, Hon. Dare Adeleke expressed his delight over the giant strides the University under the watch of Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan is recording. According to him, “the upgrade of the erstwhile College of Education to a University is a testament of His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde’s love for education. You will all agree with me that the Governor is not paying a lip service to moving the University forward. I am therefore here to show you that we are fully part of you and following your trajectory. I commend the Vice-Chancellor and his team for the good job you are doing and I want to assure you that His Excellency shall continue to support you. Thank you and have a pleasant workshop”, he submitted.

The workshop, titled “Building not from Scratch – Change Management and the Culture of Value Creation” had the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy-Vice Chancellor and other University Management team, Deans, all Heads of Departments, Director of Research Management and International Programmes, Director of Academic Planning, PAR/Vice- Chancellor’s Office, Media and Public Relations Officer, and the Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor as participants with Professor Francis Gbenga Fasanu, Akinwale Ogunmodede, Adedotun Adeosun and Olusola Obiyomi as facilitators.
