In a resounding call for purpose-driven education, the Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Seun Ashamu, emphasized the critical role of education in addressing societal challenges during his participation in the International Education Conference, ISAF, held under the theme “Accessing Education Beyond Borders; Embracing Global Opportunities,” the conference brought together education stakeholders from around the world to deliberate on key issues shaping the future of education.

Hon. Ashamu, serving as a panelist, delivered a compelling message urging aspiring students to pursue courses that offer tangible solutions to societal problems.

He underscored the importance of returning home equipped with knowledge and skills to contribute to Nigeria’s development.

“As we strive to unlock Nigeria’s potential, it is imperative that our educational pursuits align with the needs of our society,” Ashamu remarked during his address. His remarks resonated with attendees, highlighting the significance of education as a catalyst for sustainable development.

The commissioner’s advocacy for purpose-driven education reflects a growing recognition of the need to align academic pursuits with real-world challenges. By encouraging students to focus on courses that offer practical solutions, Ashamu envisions a future where education plays a central role in driving positive change.

In addition to his insightful contributions on the panel, Hon. Ashamu engaged in discussions with fellow delegates, exchanging ideas on best practices and innovative approaches to education. His active participation underscored Oyo State’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in education.
