All arrangements have been concluded by the lawmaker representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo to flag off the construction of a community police station project in his constituency today.

This was made known in a statement issued by the Lawmaker, Hon. Waheed Akintayo and made available to journalists in Ibadan this morning.

Hon. Akintayo pointed out that the flag off the multi million naira project is to complement the efforts of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde in providing security for every nook and cranny in the state.

Hon. Akintayo who is the Chairman House Committee on Information, Media, Public Affairs and ICT, further disclosed that the flag off of the project followed an on the spot assessment he made to the site of the project late last year which the community had intended to construct about 13 years ago but all to no avail.

“This project when completed will serve residents at Muslim, Mosfala and its environs in ward 4, Pegba, Onila, Ayetoro to Egbeda Atuba in ward 03 as well as Olomi, Olunde, Ile-Sheu, Boluwaji in ward 07, Ayegun in ward 1 and Alata in ward 6 respectfully.

Up till now, all the aforementioned communities either rely on Ogbere tioya divisional police station in Ona Ara local government or Sanyo police station in Ibadan South East Local government anytime a crime was committed and needed the attention of the security agency.

Therefore, since the government alone cannot shoulder the whole responsibilities of taking care of every need of our people. And considering the police, as a very important body which strives to maintain law and order in the community and ensure a peaceful environment deserves our support.” He said.

The flag off ceremony will be performed by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police while the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadan land who is the Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Engr Dotun Sanusi will be the Chief Host.

The ceremony will take place at Semi Nbi o adjacent Muslim Grammar School, Muslim area, Ibadan by 10am prompt.
