Into the aftermath of a devastating explosion at Adeyi Avenue, Old Bodija Ibadan, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, Oyo house of assembly member representing Ibadan North Constituency 2 where the ugly incident happened has extended heartfelt commisiration to the victims and their families.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Hon. Babajide Gabriel lamented the loss of two lives and the injury of nearly 80 individuals in an explosion that took residents by surprise.

He emphasized the unforeseen nature of the tragedy and offered sympathies to those grappling with the sudden loss of their loved ones.

In a plea to the community, Babajide urged residents to refrain from storing explosives in residential areas, highlighting the potential incalculable consequences such actions could bring.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, he shared his hopes for a swift recovery for the injured and prayed for the souls of the departed to rest in peace.

As investigations into the cause of the explosion unfold, the community remains in shock, grappling with the aftermath of this unexpected disaster.

Hon. Babajide’s empathetic response stands as a call for vigilance and community safety in the face of unforeseen tragedies.

His commisiration message reads :

“The explosion at Adeyi Avenue has left us in shock and grief, mourning the loss of two lives and praying for the swift recovery of the nearly 80 individuals who were injured. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends who are grappling with the pain of losing their loved ones, and to those who are currently facing the challenges of recovery.

In times like these, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the unpredictable nature of our existence. None of us expected such a calamity to befall our community, and it is in these moments that our unity and resilience are tested.

It is crucial, as we move forward, that we learn from this tragedy. I urge residents to exercise caution and refrain from storing explosives in residential areas. The consequences of such actions are, as we have tragically witnessed, incalculable. Let us prioritize the safety of our community, and work together to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.

As we sympathize with victims, let us also remember the resilience that defines us as a community.

Together, we can overcome adversity and emerge stronger. My thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you. May the injured find swift healing, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.”
