A non-profit organization, Executive Enterpise, Growth and Opportunities, EGO, Foundation, has commended the Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, for fostering economic stability at the grassroot level through enterprise and development innovations.

The Executive Director of the Foundation, Mr Toluwase Olaniyan, equally hailed the present administration in the state for practically creating an enabling environment for market men and women.

He gave the commendation during one-day training organized for market traders in book keeping and financial intelligence, with a view to taking their businesses to the next level.

The programme, tagged ‘She Enabled’, held on Friday at the Oje Market in Ibadan, in partnership with Oyo State government. Olaniyan noted that the training will afford the participants the requisite knowledge on market book keeping and how to analyse profit made on a daily basis.

In his words: “One thing I really appreciate about the administration of Governor Makinde is that he is intentional about fostering economic stability for those who are into trade and commerce in the state.

“This programme is not one-off. We are preoccupied with building continuous conversation with the market women. We have set up market sustainability agent that would be part of their business growth.

“So, we believe this training will also go a long way in giving adequate knowledge to our market women on how to keep records and analyse the profits they make on a daily basis.”

Speaking on the Foundation’s mission, He opined that it is a development organization aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment in Africa believing in human and society with the capacity to nurture and empower.

Representing the Association of Market Traders in Oyo State, the duo of Alhaja Saratu Konibaje and Iyaloja of Oje Market, Alhaja Laaro Akala, appreciated the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Professor Olanike Adeyemo and EGO Foundation, for bringing the training programme to Oje Market with free eyes test and glasses.
