NPFL U-17 Youth League: 3SC, Remo Stars, Sunshine Stars, Sporting Lagos To Clash In Ekiti

The maiden edition of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) U-17 Youth League, has been slated to kick off on a zonal basis in February.

A release by the organisers of the league revealed that all the 20 participating teams, who have been divided into five groups, will be involved in a round robin contest with the group winners qualifying for the Championship playoff, from where the eventual winner would emerge.

Going by the arrangement, the quartet of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Remo Stars of Ikenne, Sunshine Stars of Akure and Sporting Lagos, will slug it out in Group D, with Ekiti as the venue.

According to the fixtures made available by the NPFL Youth League Committee, battle in the southwest zone, like in other four zones, will kick off on February 1, 2024, with the Oluyole Warriors U-17 team taking on their Remo Stars counterparts at 8am.

The second match of the opening day, wlll see Sporting Lagos and Sunshine Stars battling at 10am.

Matchday two will hold on February 2, with Sporting Lagos facing Remo Stars at 8am, while Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars will tango at 10am.

The zonal group matches will be concluded on Februaryy 3, with Shooting Stars filling out against Sporting Lagos at 8am, to be followed by the encounter between Sunshine Stars and Sporting Lagos, billed for 10am.

All the matches would be played at the Kayode Oluyemi Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

The winner of the group will join winners of other four groups for the Championship play off billed to hold between February 13 and 17, at a yet to be announced venue, for a contest that will determine the winner of the maiden edition of the NPFL U-17 Youth League
