Despite Global Crude Oil Price Hike, Dangote Refinery Maintains Stable Prices

At a time when the global crude oil market is experiencing significant price pressures, the decision by Dangote Refinery to maintain stability in the prices of its petroleum products is worthy of commendation.

For the ordinary Nigerian, stability in the price of petroleum products means much more than just the price at the filling station. It affects the cost of transportation, food, education, small businesses, logistics and virtually every aspect of daily life. Any significant increase in fuel prices can quickly place additional financial pressure on families and businesses already facing economic challenges.

This is why the decision to maintain relatively stable prices at a time of global uncertainty should be appreciated. It offers some relief to Nigerians and demonstrates a sense of responsibility toward the wider economy.

We sincerely appreciate the effort to ensure that Nigerians are not unnecessarily exposed to additional hardship whenever there are changes in the international crude oil market.
However, this moment should also remind all stakeholders that Nigeria’s energy sector must ultimately serve the Nigerian people. Government agencies, regulators, indigenous investors and other industry players must continue to work together to promote transparency, healthy competition, energy security and sustainable pricing.

Nigerians deserve an energy sector where local production translates into real economic benefits, more affordable transportation, stronger businesses, more employment opportunities.

We encourage the refinery to sustain this responsible approach while continuing to invest in the growth and development of Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
A stable energy market means relief for Nigerian families.
And a prosperous Nigeria remains a responsibility we must all share.
