Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, securing a fresh second term in office after defeating his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

The declaration followed the completion of the statutory collation of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the state collation centre in Osogbo. Reports on the final stage of the collation confirmed Adeleke’s victory after a keenly contested election held across the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.

Adeleke had maintained a commanding lead over Oyebamiji throughout the collation process, winning several key Local Government Areas across the state. The incumbent was particularly strong in areas including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, Ife East, Ife Central, Iwo, Egbedore and Odo-Otin, while the APC candidate recorded victories in a number of other councils.

The election, which attracted significant attention across Osun and beyond, saw Adeleke seeking re-election for another term while Oyebamiji campaigned on the platform of the APC to unseat the incumbent.
