…Commends Security Agencies, Local Volunteers for Courage and Sacrifice
The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan Designate of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has described the successful rescue of the abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State as a reminder that the fight against terrorism and violent crime requires unity, patience, intelligence and sacrifice.
Sanusi commended the courage and professionalism of security personnel and local volunteers who participated in the rescue operation, noting that their collective efforts demonstrated the importance of cooperation in tackling security challenges.

He also honoured the memory of those who lost their lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries while protecting innocent Nigerians.

“Their courage and sacrifice must never be forgotten. This experience offers important lessons for all of us as a people and as a nation,” Sanusi stated.

The Okanlomo Oodua stressed that security must never be politicised, maintaining that the protection of lives and property is a collective responsibility that must rise above political differences and personal interests.
He called for stronger intelligence gathering at all levels, urging communities to work closely with security agencies by promptly and responsibly reporting suspicious activities.
Sanusi also advocated improved protection for schools, particularly those in vulnerable areas, through better security planning, regular risk assessments and adequate emergency preparedness.
According to him, the coordination demonstrated among security agencies and community-based security groups showed that lasting success could only be achieved through cooperation rather than isolated efforts.
He therefore urged governments at all levels to continue investing in modern security technology, improved training and adequate welfare for security personnel, while taking proactive measures to dismantle criminal networks before they have the opportunity to strike.
“As sons and daughters of Ibadanland, we must remain vigilant, united and committed to supporting every lawful effort aimed at protecting our communities. We must reject fear, refuse to provide safe haven for criminals and stand together in defence of peace, justice and the safety of our children,” he said.
Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi prayed for continued peace and security across Oyo State, Ibadanland and Nigeria, while calling on citizens to remain united in the collective responsibility of protecting their communities.
