The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, Hon. Seun Ashamu, has praised Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as the administration’s expanding commitment to grassroots infrastructure development, following the ongoing construction of the Ladindin–Baale Ojongbodu–Iseke–Anwar-ul-Islam Sanga Road in Oyo West Local Government Area.
Ashamu, in a statement made available to journalists, said the project represents another strategic intervention aimed at opening up rural and semi-urban communities that have long suffered from poor road infrastructure.
He noted that the road, when completed, would significantly ease transportation challenges for residents, farmers, traders, students, and other road users who depend on the route for their daily activities.

He explained that improved road connectivity would help facilitate the movement of agricultural produce from rural communities to urban markets, reduce travel time, lower transportation costs for businesses, and encourage greater commercial activities within the axis.

According to him, the benefits of the road project extend beyond transportation convenience, stressing that improved road infrastructure would also enhance access to healthcare facilities, improve emergency response operations, attract private investments, and strengthen socio-economic development in surrounding communities.

Ashamu further stated that the ongoing project is a clear indication that Governor Makinde remains committed to equitable development across Oyo Federal Constituency and the state at large, regardless of political boundaries.
He further assured that the developmental drive projects of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde would soon improve infrastructure across the constituency.
“This project clearly demonstrates that this administration understands the importance of grassroots development. Good roads are critical to economic growth, security, healthcare access, and the overall well-being of our people,” Ashamu said.

He also called on residents to continue supporting policies and programmes that promote sustainable development, while commending the Oyo State government for maintaining momentum in its infrastructure renewal agenda.
