The Oyo State Fire Service Agency, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has extended warm greetings to Christians and residents across the state on the occasion of Good Friday, urging them to embrace the values of sacrifice, love, and humility while prioritizing safety.

In a statement issued to Heritage Echo News by the Agency on Friday, the Service described Good Friday as a solemn period that calls for deep reflection on the virtues of selflessness and compassion.
Akinwande noted that as residents observe the sacred day and the Easter season, there is a need to remain vigilant and safety-conscious, particularly during religious gatherings and domestic activities that may pose fire risks.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to basic fire safety measures, including proper handling of electrical appliances, cautious use of candles, and avoiding actions that could trigger preventable fire outbreaks.

While felicitating the Christian faithful, the Agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Oyo State, assuring residents of its readiness to respond promptly to emergencies.

The Chairman further urged citizens to cooperate with the Fire Service and promptly report any fire incidents, stressing that collective responsibility remains key to preventing disasters.
He concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful Good Friday and a safe Easter celebration.
