The Chairman and Sole Administrator of Oyo State Pacesetter Transportation Service (PTS), Hon. (Dr.) Ibraheem Oladeji Salami–DIKKO, has reaffirmed Oyo State’s commitment to sustainable Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology in transportation.

Dr. Dikko represented Oyo State Government at the Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) launch in New Delhi, India, on May 5, 2024 showcasing the state’s commitment to sustainable Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) technology in transportation. This initiative, led by Engr. Micheal Oluwagbemi and chaired by Dr. Zacch Adedeji, aims to promote sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria.

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, has consistently demonstrated his commitment to innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. His vision for a greener future led to the signing of the Shell Gas infrastructure deal with ShellNG, paving the way for CNG infrastructure development in the state.

A significant milestone was achieved on December 15, 2024, with the launch of CNG-powered buses for inter-state movement to Lagos by the Pacesetter Transport Services Company.

According to Dr. Dikko, this marked a major step towards reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable transportation in Oyo State.

To further support this initiative, Dr. Salami visited the conversion partner, Greenfuel Company, to discuss conversion kits for transitioning diesel-dependent vehicles to CNG. This partnership will play a crucial role in Oyo State’s journey towards a more sustainable future.

“As Oyo State continues on this path, we remains committed to exploring innovative solutions that benefit both our people and the environment. The future of Oyo State is bright, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of Nigeria’s transition to a greener, more sustainable tomorrow” Dr. Dikko stated.
