The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency, Barrister Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, has facilitated an Agribusiness Empowerment and Training Programme aimed at promoting agricultural productivity, enterprise development, value-chain participation and job creation among beneficiaries.

Ashamu, who visited participants of the Phase 1 training programme, also delivered the welcome and keynote address, where he emphasised the need to move agriculture beyond subsistence farming and short-term empowerment initiatives.

According to him, the objective should be to develop viable agricultural enterprises that can provide sustainable livelihoods and eventually create employment opportunities for others. He noted that the programme was designed not merely to train participants but to expose them to opportunities that could support the development of sustainable businesses.

He further disclosed that participants would be placed on the database of the African Development Bank-supported Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) programme, providing them with opportunities for continued support beyond the immediate training exercise.

Ashamu said the initiative reflects the kind of representation he intends to bring to the people of Afijio, Oyo East, Oyo West and Atiba Federal Constituency, with emphasis on agriculture, enterprise development and sustainable job creation.

He urged the participants to take advantage of the knowledge and opportunities provided through the programme and translate them into practical ventures that can contribute to the economic development of their communities.
