Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, has intensified his grassroots engagement with a community-to-community campaign tour across Ward 7 of Ido Local Government Area.

The campaign tour brought together APM candidates, party leaders, ward and local government executives, as well as party members and supporters, in a series of engagements aimed at strengthening direct communication with residents and community stakeholders.

The delegation included the APM candidate for the Ido State House of Assembly, Hon. Omotoso; the party’s candidate for Ido Local Government Chairmanship, Hon. Olayemi Oluwasina; the Vice Chairmanship candidate, Hon. JAGO; Ward 7 Councillorship candidate, Hon. Anwo; Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba; Alhaji Musibau Emiola and his vice; KSA Campaign Director-General, Hon. Musty; alongside other party executives and supporters.

The tour commenced at the Ile Tuntun/Alafara Landlords and Landladies Association, where KSA and members of his team engaged residents, listened to their concerns and discussed their expectations regarding effective representation and community development.

The delegation subsequently visited the Alafara Central Mosque, where the team met with mosque leaders and members of the Muslim community. The engagement provided an opportunity for the candidates to seek their goodwill, support and prayers ahead of the elections.

From Alafara, the team proceeded to Seeni, where KSA met with members of the Joint Itesiwaju Communities, alongside the Baale and other community stakeholders. Discussions centred on issues affecting residents and possible interventions to improve the welfare and development of the community.

The campaign team also visited Oganla Community, where it was received by residents and community leaders led by the Baale.

The engagement continued at Gbekuba Community, where KSA and his team met with the Baale and residents, further providing an avenue for members of the community to express their concerns and expectations.

At Adebisi Layout Community, the delegation was similarly received by members of the Landlords and Landladies Association, youths and other residents, who presented issues of concern and outlined their expectations from prospective representatives.

The tour concluded at Ogbagba Community, bringing to an end another round of extensive grassroots engagement by the APM campaign team across Ward 7.

A key feature of the engagements was the opportunity given to each community to present its specific challenges, requests and development priorities directly to the candidates.

According to the campaign team, some requests that could be immediately addressed during the engagements received prompt attention and support from KSA.

The team said the approach reflects KSA’s commitment to a people-oriented model of representation, where engagement with constituents goes beyond electoral campaigns to include listening to their concerns, understanding their needs and exploring practical ways of responding to them.

The Ward 7 tour also reinforced the APM team’s emphasis on grassroots participation, inclusive representation and sustained interaction with residents across the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.

As the campaign progresses, KSA and the APM team are continuing their community engagements across different wards, with the campaign message centred on taking representation closer to the people and maintaining direct contact with communities at the grassroots.
